Sayyiduna Ya'la bin Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I went on the Tabuk expedition with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and it was the deed I placed most trust in among my deeds. I had a hired servant who fought with a man and bit his hand; he pulled his hand away and the biter's front teeth broke. He came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) seeking retaliation, but he (peace and blessings be upon him) declared his teeth unavenged and said: "Should he have left his hand in your mouth for you to chew it like a stallion?"
