Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The wounds of women and men are equal up to one third of the blood money; if they exceed that, then the woman's blood money is half that of a man. Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Except for the tooth and the wound that exposes the bone, which are equal; whatever exceeds these is half. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: It is half in everything. Of these, the view of Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was the one al-Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) liked most.
Ibrahim al-Nakha'i also narrated it from Zayd bin Thabit and Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with them both), and both reports are munqati' (with a broken chain); Shaqiq narrated it from Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), and that is connected (mawsul).

Hadith Takhrij«صحيح۔ عن علي و زيد و منقطع عن ابن مسعود»
Rabi'ah (may Allah have mercy on him) said that he asked Ibn al-Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him): What is the blood money for a woman's finger? He said: Ten camels. He asked: For two fingers? He said: Twenty. He asked: For three? He said: Thirty. He asked: For four? He said: Twenty. Rabi'ah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: When the wound grows greater and the suffering more severe, the blood money becomes less? He asked: Are you an Iraqi? Rabi'ah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: A scholar seeking certainty, or an ignorant man seeking to learn. He said: O my nephew, this is the Sunnah.

Imam al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: When Ibn al-Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) said that it is the Sunnah, it is most likely that it is from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or from the generality of his Companions. And it is not likely that Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) said this from his own opinion, because opinion does not lead to it; and in what Sa'id (may Allah have mercy on him) called the Sunnah, since it goes against analogy and reason, there can be nothing but knowledge received through following (transmission), as we see it, and Allah knows best. We used to hold this view with that understanding, then I withheld from it, and I ask Allah for what is best. For we find some of them saying "it is the Sunnah", and then we do not find that his saying "it is the Sunnah" carries the force of being from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); so analogy is more fitting for us in this matter. He said: And it is established from Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) only in the same way as it is established from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him).
It has been narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with a chain the like of which is not established, and from Amr bin Shu'ayb, from his father, from his grandfather, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with a weak chain, like the statement of Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him); and it is the view of the jurists of Madinah.

Shurayh (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote to me five things: that the teeth are equal to one another and the fingers are equal to one another; that for the eye of an animal there is a quarter of its price; that when a man is asked at the time of his death about his child, he is at his most truthful at the time of his death; and that the wounds of men and women are equal up to one third of a man's blood money.
Jabir al-Ju'fi cannot be used as evidence, and he has been contradicted in its wording and its ruling.

Urwah al-Bariqi (may Allah be pleased with him) took a letter from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) to Qadi Shurayh (may Allah have mercy on him), in which it said: "All the fingers are equal," and "A man and a woman are equal for a tooth and for a wound that exposes the bone," and for anything other than that, a woman's blood money is half; for the eye of an animal there is a quarter of its price; and a man's word at the time of his death has the greatest right to be accepted concerning his children. Mughirah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I forgot the fifth, until Ubaydah (may Allah have mercy on him) reminded me: "If a divorced woman is in her waiting period, she will inherit."
There is a break (inqita') in this chain.
