Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Once he (peace and blessings be upon him) seated me behind him on his mount and confided some words to me which I will not tell anyone. For relieving himself he (peace and blessings be upon him) liked a raised screen or a cluster of date-palms. He (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the garden of a man from the Ansar for his need, and saw a camel there. On seeing him (peace and blessings be upon him), the camel's eyes shed tears. He (peace and blessings be upon him) went to it and stroked its back up to its hump and the back of its head, and it calmed down. He asked: "Who is the owner of this?" A young man of the Ansar came and said: "It is mine, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)!" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you not fear Allah regarding this animal which Allah has made you the owner of? This camel has complained to me that you starve it and wear it out."
