Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Whenever the dining cloth was lifted from in front of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) would supplicate: 'Al-hamdu lillahi kathiran tayyiban mubarakan fihi, ghayra makfiyyin wa la muwadda'in wa la mustaghnan 'anhu, Rabbana' (All praise, abundant and full of blessing, belongs to Allah alone, praise that never ends, that can never be abandoned, and of which one can never be free of need, O our Lord!).
(b) Other narrators added in it: 'hamdan kathiran' (abundant praise).

(b) In Sahih al-Bukhari it is narrated from Abu Asim: When he (peace and blessings be upon him) finished his food, and on another occasion he said: When the dining cloth was lifted, he would supplicate: "'Al-hamdu lillahil-ladhi kafana wa arwana, ghayra makfiyyin wa la makfur' (All praise belongs to the One who has fed us to our fill and quenched our thirst; a blessing that does not end and will not be met with ingratitude)." And on another occasion he would say: "'Al-hamdu lillahi Rabbina, ghayra makfiyyin wa la muwadda'in wa la mustaghnan 'anhu, Rabbana' (O our Lord, all praise is for You, praise that never ends, that can never be abandoned, and of which one can never be free of need, O our Lord!)."
