أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، أنبأ أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبَّادٍ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَثَرَ صُفْرَةٍ، فَقَالَ: " مَا هَذَا يَا أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ؟ " قَالَ: تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً عَلَى وَزْنِ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ قَالَ: " بَارَكَ اللهُ لَكَ، أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ "، أَخْرَجَاهُ فِي الصَّحِيحِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ حَمَّادِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that he (the Prophet) (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a trace of yellow on Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) and asked: "O Abu Muhammad, what is this?" Abd al-Rahman said: O Prophet of Allah, I have married a woman for gold equal to the weight of a date stone. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah bless you; hold a wedding feast (walimah), even if only with one sheep."
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُقْرِئُ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ، ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ، ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَوَّارٍ، ⦗٢٤٠⦘ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نُعَيْمٍ قَالَا: ثنا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا رَفَأَ الْإِنْسَانَ إِذَا تَزَوَّجَ قَالَ: " بَارَكَ اللهُ لَكَ، وَبَارَكَ عَلَيْكَ، وَجَمَعَ بَيْنَكُمَا فِي خَيْرٍ "، وَفِي رِوَايَةِ الْمُقْرِئِ قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا تَزَوَّجَ رَجُلٌ فَرَفَأَهُ قَالَ: فَذَكَرَهُ.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) congratulated a person who had married, he would say: 'Barakallahu laka, wa baraka 'alayka, wa jama'a baynakuma fi khayr' (May Allah bless you, and send blessing upon you, and bring the two of you together in goodness).

أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ التَّمَّارُ، ثنا ابْنُ كَثِيرٍ، أنبأ سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ، يَقُولُ: قَدِمَ عَقِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ الْبَصْرَةَ، فَتَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً مِنْ بَنِي جُشَمٍ، فَقَالُوا لَهُ: بِالرِّفَاءِ وَالْبَنِينَ، فَقَالَ: لَا تَقُولُوا كَذَلِكَ، فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ ذَلِكَ وَأَمَرَنَا أَنْ نَقُولَ: " بَارَكَ اللهُ لَكَ وَبَارَكَ عَلَيْكَ ".
Al-Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Sayyiduna Aqil bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) married a woman of the tribe of Banu Jusham in Basrah, and the people said to him: Congratulations, and they also congratulated him on (the prospect of) sons. Sayyiduna Aqil (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Do not say that, for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade it and commanded us to say: 'Barakallahu lakum, wa baraka 'alaykum' (May Allah bless you and send blessing upon you)."
