أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ دَاسَةَ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، ثنا زُهَيْرٌ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ أَبِي لَيْلَى حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا حَدَّثَهُ وَذَكَرَ الْقِصَّةَ قَالَ: " فَدَنَوْنَا مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَبَّلْنَا يَدَهُ ".
Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated a hadith and mentioned the story: We drew near to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and kissed his hands.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ السُّكَّرِيُّ بِبَغْدَادَ، أنبأ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أنبأ الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ فَيَّاضٍ، عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ: لَمَّا قَدِمَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ الشَّامَ اسْتَقْبَلَهُ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فَقَبَّلَ يَدَهُ ثُمَّ خَلَوْا يَبْكِيَانِ قَالَ: فَكَانَ يَقُولُ تَمِيمٌ: " تَقْبِيلُ الْيَدِ سُنَّةٌ ".
When Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came to al-Sham, Sayyiduna Abu Ubaydah bin al-Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) went out to receive him and kissed his hand. Then they went off alone and began to weep. The narrator said: Tamim (may Allah have mercy on him) used to say: Kissing the hands is a sunnah.
