Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was given a choice between two things, he (peace and blessings be upon him) always chose the easier, as long as there was no wrong in it. If there was wrong in it, he (peace and blessings be upon him) was the farthest of people from it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) never took revenge for his own sake, except when the sanctity of Allah was being violated; then he took revenge solely for Allah.

Sayyiduna Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I asked my maternal uncle Hind bin Abi Halah (may Allah be pleased with him), who was skilled at describing, about the appearance of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He narrated the hadith at length, and in it is: He would look into the state of his companions and ask people about their affairs; he would praise what is good and affirm it, and censure what is bad and expose its ugliness. In the first narration, 'yuqawwihi' (he strengthens it) appears in place of 'yusawwibuhu' (he affirms it).
