Urwah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah have mercy on him) related that Marwan bin al-Hakam and Miswar bin Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with them both) informed him that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sought the people's permission regarding the captives of Hawazin, he said: "I do not know which of you has given permission and which of you has not. So go back, and let your leaders bring your matter to us." So the people went back and spoke with their leaders, then they came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) (and informed him) that they had gladly given permission.
