أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، وَقَالُوا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، أنا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ، ثنا أَبُو الْمُنِيبِ عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْعَتَكِيُّ، عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَطْعَمَ الْجَدَّةَ السُّدُسَ إِذَا لَمْ تَكُنْ أُمٌّ ".
Ibn Buraydah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) "gave the grandmother a sixth when there was no mother."
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، أنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ مَعَانِيَ هَذِهِ الْفَرَائِضِ وَأُصُولَهَا عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، وَأَمَّا التَّفْسِيرُ فَتَفْسِيرُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَلَى مَعَانِي زَيْدٍ، قَالَ: " وَمِيرَاثُ الْجَدَّاتِ أَنَّ أُمَّ الْأُمِّ لَا تَرِثُ مَعَ الْأُمِّ شَيْئًا، وَهِيَ فِيمَا سِوَى ذَلِكَ يُفْرَضُ لَهَا السُّدُسُ فَرِيضَةً، وَأَنَّ أُمَّ الْأَبِ لَا تَرِثُ مَعَ الْأُمِّ وَلَا مَعَ الْأَبِ شَيْئًا، وَهِيَ فِيمَا سِوَى ذَلِكَ يُفْرَضُ لَهَا السُّدُسُ فَرِيضَةً ".
Kharijah bin Zayd (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father that the meanings and principles of these inheritance shares are reported from Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him), and their explanation is from Abu al-Zinad (may Allah have mercy on him). It states that the maternal grandmother is entitled to nothing in the presence of the mother, and in other cases a sixth is assigned to her as a fixed share; and the paternal grandmother will inherit nothing in the presence of the mother or the father, and in other cases a sixth is assigned to her as a fixed share.
