أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، أنبأ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، أنبأ الشَّافِعِيُّ، أنبأ سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ مَلَكَ مِائَةَ سَهْمٍ مِنْ خَيْبَرَ اشْتَرَاهَا، فَأَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ مَالًا لَمْ أُصِبْ مِثْلَهُ قَطُّ، وَقَدْ أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَتَقَرَّبَ بِهِ إِلَى اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، فَقَالَ: " حَبْسُ الْأَصْلِ، وَسَبْلُ الثَّمَرَةِ ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) became the owner of one hundred shares at Khaybar, which he had bought. Then he came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! I have received property the like of which I have never received, and I intend to seek nearness to Allah through it." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Retain the original property and dedicate the fruit in the path of Allah."
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى الْخَطِيبُ، ثنا أَبُو بَحْرٍ الْبَرْبَهَارِيُّ، ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ مُنْذُ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ سَبْعِينَ سَنَةً قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ مَالًا لَمْ أُصِبْ قَطُّ مِثْلَهُ، تَخَلَّصْتُ الْمِائَةَ سَهْمٍ الَّتِي بِخَيْبَرَ، وَإِنِّي قَدْ أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَتَقَرَّبَ بِهَا إِلَى اللهِ تَعَالَى، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " حَبْسُ الْأَصْلِ وَسَبْلُ الثَّمَرَةِ " قَالَ أَبُو يَحْيَى السَّاجِيِّ: وَرُوِيَ أَنَّ الْحَسَنَ وَالْحُسَيْنَ، وَقَفَ أَحَدَهُمَا، أَشْقَاصًا مِنْ دُورِهِ، فَأَجَازَ ذَلِكَ الْعُلَمَاءُ، وَتَصَدَّقَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ بِالسَّهْمِ بِالْغَابَةِ الَّذِي وَهَبَتْ لَهُ حَفْصَةُ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Abu Yahya says: One of Sayyiduna al-Hasan and Sayyiduna al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them both) endowed portions of his houses, and the scholars have permitted that; and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) endowed the shares that Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) had gifted to him.
