أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّغَانِيُّ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ، أنبأ هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " الرَّجُلُ أَحَقُّ بِعَيْنِ مَالِهِ إِذَا وَجَدَهُ، وَيَتَّبِعُ الْبَيْعُ مَنْ بَاعَهُ " رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْنٍ بِمَعْنَاهُ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man has more right to his own property when he finds it, and the buyer should go after the one who sold it to him."
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ بِشْرَانَ الْعَدْلُ بِبَغْدَادَ، أنبأ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ⦗٨٥⦘ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا سَعْدَانُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، ثنا الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا ضَاعَ لِأَحَدِكُمْ مَتَاعٌ، أَوْ سُرِقَ لَهُ مَتَاعٌ، فَوَجَدَهُ فِي يَدِ رَجُلٍ بِعَيْنِهِ فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهِ، وَيَرْجِعُ الْمُشْتَرِي عَلَى الْبَائِعِ بِالثَّمَنِ ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When something belonging to one of you is lost or stolen, and he finds it with some man, then he has more right to it, and the buyer will go back to the seller and take back his price."
