It is narrated from Dawud bin Khalid bin Dinar that he and a man called Ibn Yusuf passed by Rabi'ah bin Abi Abd al-Rahman, and Ibn Yusuf said: "We find with others hadiths that we do not find with you." He said: "I have many hadiths, but Rabi'ah bin al-Hudayr, who used to stay close to Talhah bin Ubaydullah (may Allah be pleased with him), claimed that he never heard Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrate from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) except one hadith." Rabi'ah said: I asked: "What is it?" (He said:) Talhah bin Ubaydullah (may Allah be pleased with him) told me: "We set out with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and went towards the Harrah (stony ground) of Waqim, and we saw something there; it was some old graves. We said: These are the graves of our brothers. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'These are the graves of our companions.' Then we came to the graves of the martyrs, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'These are the graves of our brothers.'"

Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I saw Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), when he went to the graves of the martyrs on his she-camel, turn her this way and that. He was asked about it, and he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on this road on his she-camel, so I said (to myself): Perhaps the foot of my she-camel will fall upon the foot of his (peace and blessings be upon him) she-camel.
