أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ، حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَقِيلِ بْنِ مَعْقِلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " إِذَا تُوُفِّيَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَوَجَدَ شَيْئًا فَلْيُكَفَّنْ فِي ثَوْبِ حِبَرَةٍ ".
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "When one of you dies and he has the means, let him be shrouded in a striped Yemeni cloth (hibarah)."
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ، أنبأ مُحَمَّدٌ، أنبأ أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، حَدَّثَنِي هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ حَاتِمِ بْنِ أَبِي نَصْرٍ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ نُسَيٍّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " خَيْرُ الْكَفَنِ الْحُلَّةُ، وَخَيْرُ الْأُضْحِيَّةِ الْكَبْشُ الْأَقْرَنُ ". قَالَ الشَّيْخُ: وَالْحُلَّةُ هِيَ ثَوْبَانِ أَحْمَرَانِ غَالِبًا، ⦗٥٦٦⦘ وَالْأَحَادِيثُ فِي أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُفِّنَ فِي ثِيَابٍ بِيضٍ، وَأَنَّهُ اسْتَحَبَّ الْبَيَاضَ أَصَحُّ، وَبِاللهِ التَّوْفِيقُ.
Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: "The best shroud is the hullah, and the best sacrificial animal is the horned ram." The hullah is usually two red garments. The hadiths that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was shrouded in white garments, and that he preferred white, are more authentic.
