أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعْدٍ الْمَالِينِيُّ، أنبأ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ بْنُ عَدِيٍّ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ، ثنا يَزِيدُ أَبُو خَالِدٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ، ثنا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي حَبِيبُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَا تُبْرِزْ فَخِذَكَ، وَلَا تَنْظُرْ إِلَى فَخِذِ حَيٍّ وَلَا مَيِّتٍ ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Do not uncover your thigh, and do not look at the thigh of anyone, living or dead."
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُقْرِئُ أنبأ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ: أَنَّ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، " غَسَّلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَمِيصٌ، وَبِيَدِ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ خِرْقَةٌ يُتْبِعُ بِهَا تَحْتَ الْقَمِيصِ ".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) washed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while there was a shirt on him (peace and blessings be upon him), and in the hand of Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was a piece of cloth with which he was cleaning beneath the shirt.
