Qaza'ah narrates from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that during an earthquake he led a prayer of six bowings and four prostrations: five bowings and two prostrations in one rak'ah, and one bowing and two prostrations in one rak'ah. Imam al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If this hadith were established with us from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), we would also hold this view."
It is established from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both).

Abdullah bin al-Harith narrates from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he led a prayer in Basrah during an earthquake. He stood for a long time, then bowed, then raised his head from bowing and stood for a long time, then bowed for a long time, then raised his head from bowing and stood for a long time, then bowed, and after that prostrated. Then he stood up for the second rak'ah and did the same. So his prayer had six bowings and four prostrations.
Qatadah (may Allah have mercy on him) said about this hadith that this is how the prayer for the signs used to be. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) also said that this is how the prayer for the signs used to be.
