Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led two rak'ahs of prayer on the day of Eid al-Fitr, and did not pray before or after it. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the women, and Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) was with him (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded the women to give charity, and the women were giving their earrings and studs in charity.

Abu Bakr bin Hafs (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I went out with Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) on the day of Eid al-Adha or Eid al-Fitr. He walked on foot until he came to the place of Eid prayer and sat down. The imam came, led the prayer and left, so Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) also left; he did not pray before it or after it. I said: O Ibn Umar! Is there no prayer before it and after it? He said: "This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) doing it."
