Sayyiduna al-Miswar bin Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was given silk brocade cloaks (qaba) with gold buttons as a gift, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) distributed them among the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them). Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with him) said to his son: "Let us go to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); perhaps we may get something as well." Al-Miswar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: My father said to me: "Go in and call the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to us, wearing one of the cloaks. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Makhramah, this I kept hidden for you."

Ibn Abi Mulaykah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) distributed silk brocade cloaks (qaba) fastened with gold buttons. News of this reached Makhramah bin Nawfal (may Allah be pleased with him), the father of al-Miswar (may Allah be pleased with him). He sent his son to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He came, stood at the door and said: "Call the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for me." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard his voice. He (peace and blessings be upon him) came out with one of the cloaks and said: "O Abu al-Miswar, I kept this hidden for you," saying it twice.

Waqid bin Amr said: I went to Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent an army to Ukaydir of Dumah. He sent the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a cloak (jubbah) woven with gold. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wore it, and the people began touching it with their hands. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Are you amazed at this cloak?" They said: "O Messenger of Allah, we have never seen a finer garment than it." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Allah, the handkerchiefs of Sa'd in Paradise are finer than what you are looking at."
