أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ فِي آخَرِينَ قَالُوا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، أنبأ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، أنبأ الشَّافِعِيُّ، أنبأ مَالِكٌ، ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو النَّضْرِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ الْفَقِيهُ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ، ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، فِيمَا قَرَأَ عَلَى مَالِكٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ رَأَى حُلَّةً سِيَرَاءَ عِنْدَ بَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لَوِ اشْتَرَيْتَ هَذِهِ الْحُلَّةَ فَلَبِسْتَهَا يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَلِلْوَفْدِ إِذَا قَدِمُوا عَلَيْكَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّمَا يَلْبَسُ هَذِهِ مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ "، ثُمَّ جَاءَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْهَا حُلَلٌ فَأَعْطَى عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ مِنْهَا حُلَّةً فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ كَسَوْتَنِيهَا وَقَدْ قُلْتَ فِي حُلَّةِ عُطَارِدٍ مَا قُلْتَ فَقَالَ ⦗٣٤٣⦘ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنِّي لَمْ أَكْسُكَهَا لِتَلْبَسَهَا "، فَكَسَاهَا عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَخًا لَهُ مُشْرِكًا كَانَ بِمَكَّةَ ". رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، عَنِ الْقَعْنَبِيِّ، وَرَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ مَالِكٍ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) says that Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a striped silk robe (hullah) at the door of the mosque and said: O Messenger of Allah! If only you (peace and blessings be upon him) would buy this robe and wear it on Fridays and for the delegations that come to you. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Only one who has no share in the Hereafter wears this." Then, when robes came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) gave one to Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him). He said: O Messenger of Allah! You have clothed me with it, although you (peace and blessings be upon him) said what you said about the robe of Utarid. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I did not give it to you so that you would wear it." So Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) gave it to a polytheist brother of his who lived in Makkah.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو، أَنَّ يَحْيَى بْنَ سَعِيدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَا عَلَى أَحَدِكُمْ إِنْ وَجَدَ، أَوْ مَا عَلَى أَحَدِكُمْ إِنْ وَجَدْتُمْ أَنْ يَتَّخِذَ ثَوْبَيْنِ لِيَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ سِوَى ثَوْبَيْ مِهْنَتِهِ ". قَالَ عَمْرٌو: وَأَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ حَبَّانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ سَلَامٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ.
Muhammad bin Yahya bin Habban says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If one of you has the means — or he said: if you have the means — keep two special garments for Friday besides his work clothes." Ibn Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said these words on the pulpit.
