Humayd narrates from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man was walking fast, and when he reached the people he was out of breath. When he stood for the prayer he said: 'Al-hamdu lillahi hamdan kathiran tayyiban mubarakan fih' (All praise is for Allah, praise that is abundant, pure and blessed). When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) completed the prayer, he asked: "Who was the one who spoke? He said good words; he did not say anything bad." The man said: O Messenger of Allah, I joined the row while I was out of breath. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I saw twelve angels hastening to take these words up." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you comes to the prayer, let him walk at his ordinary pace, pray whatever of the prayer he catches, and complete whatever has passed him."
