Awn bin Abi Juhayfah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father (Sayyiduna Abu Juhayfah, may Allah be pleased with him): I went to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at a place called al-Abtah, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was in a tent. Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) came out and gave the call to prayer (adhan), then went in and came out with a water vessel or a small waterskin. When the people saw the ablution water of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), they rushed to it. Then he went in and came out with a short spear. He called the iqamah, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed two rak'ahs of Zuhr and two rak'ahs of Asr facing this spear, while women and donkeys passed in front of it.
