Ikrimah narrates from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): "O Abbas! O uncle! Shall I not give you? Shall I not tell you ten qualities? When you do this, Allah will forgive all your sins: the first and the last, the new and the old, those committed deliberately and those by mistake, the open and the hidden. Those ten things are that you offer four rak'ahs and begin with the takbir; then recite Surah al-Fatihah and another surah; then, after finishing the surah, while standing, say 'Subhan Allah, wal-hamdu lillah, wa la ilaha illa Allah, wa Allahu akbar' (Glory be to Allah, all praise is for Allah, there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest) fifteen times; then bow and say it ten times while bowing; then raise your head from bowing and say it ten times while standing; then prostrate and say it ten times while in prostration; then raise your head from prostration and say it ten times; then say it ten times in prostration; then raise your head from prostration and say it ten times. That makes 75 times in every rak'ah. If you are able to pray it every day, do so; if you are not able, then every week; if you are not able even to do that, then once a month; if you are not able, then once a year; and if you are not able even to do that, then at least pray it once in your lifetime."

Abd al-Rahman bin Bishr bin al-Hakam al-Naysaburi (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated these words: "the minor and major sins as well," before the statement: "his hidden and open sins will be forgiven."

Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Abbas! O uncle of the Messenger of Allah! Shall I not give you a gift?"
Then he mentioned it with the same meaning, as a mursal report.

Abu al-Jawza' (may Allah have mercy on him) said: A Companion, namely Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both), said to me: Come to me, I will give you a gift. I thought he would give me some present. When I went, he said: "When the day passes its zenith, stand and pray four rak'ahs." He mentioned the like of it: "Then raise your head from the second prostration, sit upright, and do not stand until you have said 'Subhan Allah, wal-hamdu lillah, wa Allahu akbar, wa la ilaha illa Allah' (Glory be to Allah, all praise is for Allah, Allah is the Greatest, there is no god but Allah) ten times each; then do the same in all four rak'ahs."
The narrator said: "Even if your sins were more than those of all people, they would be forgiven." I said: What if I am not able to pray it at that time? He said: "Pray it whenever you wish, by day or by night."
(b) Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates it from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as marfu', except that he places the fifteen tasbihs before the recitation, and places those that come after the second prostration after the recitation.

Al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) in the same way, and said: "In the second prostration of the first rak'ah as well," as in the hadith of Mahdi bin Maymun.
