Abu al-Jawza' (may Allah have mercy on him) said: A Companion, namely Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both), said to me: Come to me, I will give you a gift. I thought he would give me some present. When I went, he said: "When the day passes its zenith, stand and pray four rak'ahs." He mentioned the like of it: "Then raise your head from the second prostration, sit upright, and do not stand until you have said 'Subhan Allah, wal-hamdu lillah, wa Allahu akbar, wa la ilaha illa Allah' (Glory be to Allah, all praise is for Allah, Allah is the Greatest, there is no god but Allah) ten times each; then do the same in all four rak'ahs."
The narrator said: "Even if your sins were more than those of all people, they would be forgiven." I said: What if I am not able to pray it at that time? He said: "Pray it whenever you wish, by day or by night."
(b) Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates it from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as marfu', except that he places the fifteen tasbihs before the recitation, and places those that come after the second prostration after the recitation.
