Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Malik Ibn Buhaynah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a man who was praying when the iqamah for the morning prayer had been called. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said something to him; we do not know what he said. The narrator said: When we finished the prayer, we asked: What did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say to you? He said: He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon one of you will be praying four rak'ahs for the morning prayer."
Al-Qa'nabi said: Abdullah bin Malik Ibn Buhaynah, from his father; and saying "from his father" in this hadith is a mistake.

Sayyiduna Ibn Buhaynah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man praying two rak'ahs when the iqamah for the prayer had been called, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Is the morning prayer four rak'ahs? Is the morning prayer four rak'ahs?"
Ya'qub said: This is the correct version, and Ibrahim erred in saying "from his father."

Sayyiduna Malik Ibn Buhaynah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the mosque when the prayer had begun, and a man was praying two rak'ahs. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Will you pray four rak'ahs for the morning prayer?"
The correct view is that of those who said Abdullah bin Malik Ibn Buhaynah; he is Abdullah bin Malik bin al-Qishb of Azd Shanu'ah, and his mother is Buhaynah bint al-Harith bin al-Muttalib. Ali bin al-Madini said this.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the iqamah for the prayer has been called, there is no prayer except the obligatory one." It was said: O Messenger of Allah, not even the two rak'ahs of Fajr? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No, not even the two rak'ahs of Fajr."
Abu Ahmad (Ibn Adi) said: I do not know anyone who mentioned this addition in its text other than Yahya bin Nasr, from Muslim bin Khalid, from Amr. It has also been reported from Ahmad bin Sayyar from Nasr bin Hajib, which is an error. Nasr bin Hajib al-Marwazi is not strong, and his son Yahya is likewise. The authentic hadiths we have cited as evidence are sufficient without this addition.
