Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: I spent the night in the house of my maternal aunt Maymunah bint al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led the Isha prayer, then came home and prayed four rak'ahs. Then he slept, then he woke up and asked: "Has the little boy slept?" or said a word similar to it. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up for prayer, and I stood on his (peace and blessings be upon him) left side. He (peace and blessings be upon him) moved me to his right side. He (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed five rak'ahs, then prayed two rak'ahs, then he (peace and blessings be upon him) slept, until I heard the sound of his (peace and blessings be upon him) snoring; then he (peace and blessings be upon him) went out for the prayer.

Shurayh bin Hani narrates from Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her): I asked Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) about the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and she said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would pray the Isha prayer, then come to me and pray four or six rak'ahs. Once it rained at night, so we spread out a mat for him (peace and blessings be upon him); it is as though I am looking at a hole in that mat from which water was gushing out. And I never saw him (peace and blessings be upon him) keeping his clothes from touching the ground.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates it as a saying of the Prophet, that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever prays four rak'ahs after Isha, reciting in the first two rak'ahs 'Say: O disbelievers' [Surah al-Kafirun: 1] and 'Say: He is Allah, the One' [Surah al-Ikhlas: 1], and reciting in the other two rak'ahs 'Blessed is He in whose hand is the dominion, and He is over all things competent' [Surah al-Mulk: 1] and 'Alif Lam Mim. The revelation' [Surah al-Sajdah: 1], a reward will be written for him as though he had prayed four rak'ahs on Laylat al-Qadr."
Only Ibn Farrukh al-Misri narrated it.

Sayyiduna Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Whoever performs ablution well, then prays the Isha prayer and prays four rak'ahs after it, completing their bowing and prostrations, while knowing what he is reciting in them, it will be for him, or he said: these rak'ahs will be for him, equal to Laylat al-Qadr.
