In the report transmitted from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) about the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) going to Banu Amr bin Awf, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) leading the prayer, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arriving, and the people clapping, it is stated that Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) would not look around in prayer; when the people clapped a great deal, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) turned. At the end of this hadith it is stated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why did you clap so much? If something happens to anyone during his prayer, let him say 'Subhan Allah' (Glory be to Allah), for when he says 'Subhan Allah', attention will be turned to him. Clapping is only for women."
The hadith of Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) has passed in earlier pages, that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was ill, we prayed behind him (peace and blessings be upon him) while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting. He (peace and blessings be upon him) turned towards us and saw us standing.

Sahl bin al-Hanzaliyyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the iqamah for the morning prayer had been called, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was praying while also looking towards the mountain pass. Abu Dawud (may Allah have mercy on him) states that he (peace and blessings be upon him) had sent a horseman to the mountain pass during the night to keep watch (whom he was looking out for).
