The hadith of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) has already passed, in which it is mentioned that he prostrated behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) upon (the recitation of) "When the sky is split open" (Surah al-Inshiqaq).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited Surah al-Najm and prostrated, and the whole gathering, except for one man, also prostrated with him (peace and blessings be upon him). That man took a few pebbles or some dust in his hand, raised it to his face and said: "This is enough for me."
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: After that, I saw him killed in the state of disbelief (that man was Umayyah bin Khalaf).

(a) Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that sometimes the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), while reciting (the Qur'an), would pass by a verse of prostration and would prostrate with us, until we crowded around him, so much so that one of us would not even find a place to prostrate; this was outside the prayer.
(b) These are the words of the hadith of Muhammad bin Bishr (may Allah have mercy on him), and the words of the hadith of Ibn Mushir (may Allah have mercy on him) are: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would recite a verse of prostration while we were with him; he would prostrate and we would prostrate with him, until, outside the prayer, some of us would not even find a place to put our foreheads.
