(a) Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was praying, and we heard him (peace and blessings be upon him) say three times: 'A'udhu billahi minka' (I seek refuge in Allah from you). Then he said: "I curse you with the curse of Allah," saying these words three times too, and he stretched out his hands as though he were taking hold of something. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer, we said: O Messenger of Allah! In the prayer we heard you (peace and blessings be upon him) say some words that you did not use to say before, and we saw you stretch out your hands in the prayer? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The enemy of Allah, Iblis, may Allah's curse be upon him, came with a flame of fire to throw it in front of my face, so I said three times: 'A'udhu billahi minka' (I seek refuge in Allah from you). Then I said: 'I curse you with the curse of Allah.' Still he did not move back, so I intended to seize him. Had it not been for the supplication of our brother Sulayman (peace be upon him), I would have seized him and tied him up so that the children of the people of Madinah could play with him."
(b) A hadith with a similar meaning from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) has already passed in the issue of making up missed prayers.

(a) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Once, while I was praying, a devil began to contend with me. I seized him and squeezed his throat. Had it not been for the supplication of my brother Sulayman (peace be upon him), I would have tied him to one of these pillars so that the people would see him, or you would be able to see him."
(b) The hadith of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the eclipse prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) states: "I saw Paradise," or he said: "I was shown Paradise, and I went to take a bunch (of grapes) from it."

Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), the honoured wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), narrates: I used to sleep in front of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), with my legs lying in the way, in the direction of the qiblah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). When he (peace and blessings be upon him) prostrated, he would nudge me and I would draw in my legs, and when he (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up, I would stretch them out again. In those days there were no lamps in the houses.

Hadith Takhrij«صحيح۔ مضي تخريجه في الحديث 615۔ 616»
It is narrated from Kurayb, the freed slave of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) informed him: I spent a night at the house of my maternal aunt, the Mother of the Believers Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her). Then he related the hadith about the night prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), his ablution and his prayer. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: I also got up and did everything that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had done, then I stood at his side. He (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his right hand on my head, then took hold of my right ear and was twisting it.
