أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمِ بْنِ بَزِيعٍ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ أَبِي حَوْمَلٍ الْعَامِرِيِّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: أَمَّنَا جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا فِي قَمِيصٍ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ رِدَاءٌ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ: إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي فِي قَمِيصٍ ".
Muhammad bin Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Bakr narrates from his father that Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) led us in prayer in a shirt. There was no other sheet on him (may Allah be pleased with him). When he finished the prayer with the salam, he said: I have seen the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) praying in a shirt.
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ أَبِي حَامِدٍ الْمُقْرِئُ، قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شَاكِرٍ، ثنا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْمُؤْمِنِ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَقُولُ: " مَا كَانَ شَيْءٌ مِنَ الثِّيَابِ أَحَبَّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الْقَمِيصِ ".
(a) Abdullah bin Buraydah narrates: I heard the wife of the Messenger, the Mother of the Believers, Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), say that among garments there was no clothing more beloved to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) than the shirt.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نَصْرِ بْنُ قَتَادَةَ، أنبأ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدَةَ ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْعَبْدِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو تُمَيْلَةَ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْمُؤْمِنِ بْنُ خَالِدٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ: " لَمْ يَكُنْ ثَوْبٌ أَحَبَّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الْقَمِيصِ " رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي تُمَيْلَةَ وَقِيلَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ وَرُوِّينَا عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ: أَيُّ ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ فِيهِ؟ قَالَ: " الْقَمِيصُ ".
(a) Abdullah bin Buraydah narrates from the Mother of the Believers, Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her): "No clothing was more beloved to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) than the shirt."
(b) According to one report, it is also "from Abdullah bin Buraydah, from his father, from Umm Salamah" (may Allah be pleased with her).
(c) It has been reported to us through Mujahid: I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): "Which garment is most beloved to you for me to pray in?" He said: "The shirt."
(b) According to one report, it is also "from Abdullah bin Buraydah, from his father, from Umm Salamah" (may Allah be pleased with her).
(c) It has been reported to us through Mujahid: I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): "Which garment is most beloved to you for me to pray in?" He said: "The shirt."
