It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin Hurayth (may Allah be pleased with him): I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) reciting "And by the night as it departs" [Surah al-Takwir: 17] in the Fajr prayer.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) neither recited the Qur'an to the jinn nor saw them. He (peace and blessings be upon him) was going with a group of his Companions towards the market of Ukaz. In those days the devils had been prevented from obtaining the news of the heavens, and shooting flames had begun to strike them. When the devils returned to their people, they asked: "What is the news?" They said: "The news of the heavens has been blocked from us, and flames have been showered upon us." They said: "The reason the news of the heavens has been blocked from you seems to be some new event. Go about the east and west of the earth and see what new thing has happened because of which the news of the heaven has been blocked from you." Hearing this, they spread out in all directions. Those jinn among them who had set out towards Tihamah reached the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). At that time he was in the valley of "Nakhlah", intending to go to the market of Ukaz. He was leading the Companions in the Fajr prayer. When those jinn heard the Qur'an, they listened attentively and said: "By Allah! This is the thing that has come between us and the news of the heaven." When they returned to their people, they said: "Brothers! We have heard a wondrous Qur'an; it guides to the right path, so we have believed in it, and we will never associate anyone with our Lord" [Surah al-Jinn: 1-2]. Then Allah Almighty revealed Surah al-Jinn to His Prophet, and it was the speech of the jinn that was revealed to him.

It is narrated from Abu Nadrah: We were engaged in a discussion of knowledge with Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him). A man said: "Do not speak of anything except the Qur'an." Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: "You are truly a fool and a simpleton! Did you find in the Qur'an that you should pray four rak'ahs of Zuhr, and four of Asr as well, without reciting aloud in them; and pray three rak'ahs of Maghrib, reciting aloud in two and quietly in one; and pray four rak'ahs of Isha, reciting aloud in two and quietly in two; and pray two rak'ahs of Fajr, reciting aloud in both?"
