It is narrated from Muhammad bin Amr bin Ata' that we were present in a gathering of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). We discussed the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and Abu Humayd al-Sa'idi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I remember the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) best of you all. Then he mentioned the complete hadith. In it there is also that when he prostrated, he placed his hands in such a way that they were neither spread out too much nor drawn in completely, and the tips of the toes of his feet were also facing the qiblah.

The same narration is reported through another chain; in it, Muhammad bin Amr bin Ata' reports: I heard Sayyiduna Abu Humayd al-Sa'idi (may Allah be pleased with him) say: "When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood for prayer." Then he mentioned the complete hadith, and in it there is: "Then he went down to the ground in prostration, kept his arms away from his sides, and kept space between the toes of his feet."
