It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him), or from another Companion, that Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) began the iqamah. When he said 'Qad qamat al-salah' (The prayer has been established), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "'Aqamaha Allahu wa adamaha' (May Allah establish it and make it last)." And for the rest of the iqamah he said the like of the hadith of Umar about the adhan.

It is narrated from Abu Isa al-Uswari that whenever Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) heard the adhan, he would say: 'Allahumma rabba hadhihi al-da'wati al-mustajabati al-mustajabi laha, da'wati al-haqqi wa kalimati al-taqwa, tawaffani 'alayha, wa ahyini 'alayha, waj'alni min salihi ahliha 'amalan yawm al-qiyamah' (O Allah, Lord of this call that is answered and responded to, the call of truth and the word of piety: cause me to die upon it, keep me alive upon it, and on the Day of Resurrection place me among those of its people who are righteous in deeds).
