أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ، ح، قَالَ: وَأَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْكَعْبِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ، قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " فُضِّلْتُ عَلَى النَّاسِ بِثَلَاثٍ: جُعِلَتْ صُفُوفُنَا كَصُفُوفِ الْمَلَائِكَةِ، وَجُعِلَتْ لَنَا الْأَرْضُ كُلُّهَا مَسْجِدًا، وَجُعِلَتْ تُرْبَتُهَا لَنَا طَهُورًا، وَذَكَرَ خَصْلَةً أُخْرَى ". رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَزَادَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ إِذَا لَمْ نَجْدِ الْمَاءَ. وَرَوَاهُ أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ، فَقَالَ: " وَجُعِلَ تُرَابُهَا لَنَا طَهُورًا ".
(a) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have been favoured over people with three things: our rows have been made like the rows of the angels, the whole earth has been made a place of prayer for us, and its soil has been made pure for us," and he mentioned another quality.
(b) In the narration reported from Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah there is this addition: "If we do not find water."

وَقَدْ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْقَطَّانُ بِبَغْدَادَ، ثنا أَبُو سَهْلِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ الْقَطَّانُ، ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْحَرْبِيُّ، ثنا عَفَّانُ، ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، ثنا أَبُو مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيُّ، وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ بْنُ عَبْدَانَ الْأَهْوَازِيُّ، أنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الضَّبِّيُّ، ثنا أَبُو كَامِلٍ، ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " فُضِّلْنَا عَلَى النَّاسِ بِثَلَاثٍ: جُعِلَتْ صُفُوفُنَا كَصُفُوفِ الْمَلَائِكَةِ، وَجُعِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ لَنَا مَسْجِدًا وَجُعِلَ تُرَابُهَا طَهُورًا، وَأُعْطِيتُ هَذِهِ الْآيَاتِ مِنْ آخِرِ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ مِنْ بَيْتِ كَنْزٍ تَحْتَ الْعَرْشِ لَمْ يُعْطَ أَحَدٌ مِنْهُ قَبْلِي، وَلَا يُعْطَى أَحَدٌ مِنْهُ بَعْدِي ". لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ أَبِي كَامِلٍ، وَحَدِيثُ عَفَّانَ بِمَعْنَاهُ، وَقَالَ: " وَجُعِلَ تُرَابُهَا لَنَا طَهُورًا ".
Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "We have been favoured over people with three things: our rows have been made like the rows of the angels; the earth has been made a place of prayer for us and its soil has been made pure; and I have been given these last verses of Surah al-Baqarah from a treasure-house beneath the Throne, which were not given to anyone before me, nor will they be given to anyone after me."

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْقَطَّانُ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ، ثنا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ ابْنِ الْحَنَفِيَّةِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أُعْطِيتُ مَا لَمْ يُعْطَ أَحَدٌ مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ " فَقُلْنَا: مَا هُوَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ فَقَالَ: " نُصِرْتُ بِالرُّعْبِ، وَأُعْطِيتُ مَفَاتِيحَ الْأَرْضِ وَسُمِّيتُ أَحْمَدَ، وَجُعِلَتْ لِيَ التُّرَابُ طَهُورًا، وَجُعِلَتْ أُمَّتِي خَيْرَ الْأُمَمِ ".
Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have been given what was not given to any prophet before me." We said: O Messenger of Allah! What is it? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have been helped with awe, I have been given the keys of the earth, I have been named Ahmad, the soil has been made pure for me, and my Ummah has been made the best of nations."
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْفَقِيهُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شَاذَانَ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ، ثنا مُعَلَّى بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، أنا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ قَابُوسَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: " أَطْيَبُ الصَّعِيدِ أَرْضُ الْحَرْثِ ".
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The best soil is the soil of cultivated land.
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَمْرٍو الْأَدِيبُ، أنا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ بْنُ عَدِيٍّ، أنا أَبُو عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ بِصُورٍ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ الْحَلَبِيُّ، ثنا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، عَنْ قَابُوسَ بْنِ أَبِي ظَبْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: " الصَّعِيدُ الْحَرْثُ حَرْثُ الْأَرْضِ ".
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Al-Sa'id" means "the soil of cultivated land".
