أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو النَّضْرِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ الْفَقِيهُ، ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ الْفَقِيهُ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، ثنا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ أَبُو النَّضْرِ، وَحَدَّثَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا هُشَيْمٌ، ثنا سَيَّارٌ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ الْفَقِيرِ، ثنا جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " أُعْطِيتُ خَمْسًا لَمْ يُعْطَهُنَّ أَحَدٌ قَبْلِي: نُصِرْتُ بِالرُّعْبِ مَسِيرَةَ شَهْرٍ، وَجُعِلَتْ لِيَ الْأَرْضُ مَسْجِدًا وَطَهُورًا فَأَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي أَدْرَكَتْهُ الصَّلَاةُ فَلْيُصَلِّ، وَأُحِلَّتْ لِيَ الْغَنَائِمُ وَلَمْ تَحِلَّ لِأَحَدٍ قَبْلِي، وَأُعْطِيتُ الشَّفَاعَةَ وَكَانَّ النَّبِيُّ يُبْعَثُ إِلَى قَوْمِهِ خَاصَّةً، وَبُعِثْتُ إِلَى النَّاسِ عَامَّةً " رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ وَغَيْرِهِ، عَنْ هُشَيْمٍ. وَرَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَحْيَى، وَأَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَقَالَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ: " وَجُعِلَتْ لِيَ الْأَرْضُ طَيِّبَةً وَطَهُورًا وَمَسْجِدًا "..
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have been given five things which were not given to anyone before me: I have been helped by awe at a distance of a month's journey; the (whole) earth has been made a place of prayer and a means of purification for me, so whichever man of my Ummah is overtaken by the time of prayer, let him pray; the spoils of war have been made lawful for me, whereas they were not lawful for anyone before me; I have been given (permission for) intercession; and a prophet used to be sent to a particular people, while I have been sent to all mankind." (b) In Sahih Muslim the hadith is reported from Yahya bin Yahya and Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah: "And the earth has been made pure, purifying and a place of prayer for me."
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو حَازِمٍ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو عَمْرِو بْنُ مَطَرٍ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الذُّهْلِيُّ، أنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، أنا هُشَيْمُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ، عَنْ سَيَّارٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ الْفَقِيرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَهُ بِمَعْنَاهُ، وَذَكَرَ هَذَا اللَّفْظَ.
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said (the same hadith). It is reported with the same meaning as the previous narration and with these same words.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ بْنُ بِشْرَانَ الْعَدْلُ بِبَغْدَادَ، أنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، ثنا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ هَارُونَ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ يَعْنِي التَّيْمِيَّ، عَنْ سَيَّارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " فُضِّلْتُ بِأَرْبَعٍ: جُعِلَتْ لِيَ الْأَرْضُ مَسْجِدًا وَطَهُورًا فَأَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي أَتَى الصَّلَاةَ فَلَمْ يَجِدْ مَاءً وَجَدَ الْأَرْضَ مَسْجِدًا وَطَهُورًا، وَأُرْسِلْتُ إِلَى النَّاسِ كَافَّةً، وَنُصِرْتُ بِالرُّعْبِ مِنْ مَسِيرَةِ شَهْرٍ يَسِيرُ بَيْنَ يَدِيَّ، وَأُحِلَّتْ لِيَ الْغَنَائِمُ ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have been favoured with four things: the earth has been made a place of prayer and a means of purification for me, so whichever man of my Ummah reaches the time of prayer and does not find water, let him regard the earth as a place of prayer and a means of ablution; I have been sent to all people; I have been helped by awe from a month's journey, which goes ahead of me; and the spoils of war have been made lawful for me."
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْفَقِيهُ، أنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ ⦗٣٢٧⦘ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا ابْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، ثنا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ بُجْدَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ الصَّعِيدَ الطَّيِّبَ وُضُوءُ الْمُسْلِمِ وَلَوْ عَشْرِ حِجَجٍ، فَإِذَا وَجَدَ الْمَاءَ فَلْيَمَسَّ بَشَرَتَهُ فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Clean earth is the ablution of a Muslim, even if ten years pass. When he finds water, let him pour it over his body, for that is better."
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو حَازِمٍ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ هِشَامٍ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ، قَالَا: ثنا مَخْلَدٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ السَّخْتِيَانِيِّ، وَخَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ بُجْدَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " الصَّعِيدُ الطَّيِّبُ وُضُوءُ الْمُسْلِمِ، وَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ الْمَاءَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ ". تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ مَخْلَدٌ هَكَذَا وَغَيْرُهُ بِرِوَايَةٍ عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ السَّخْتِيَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، وَعَنْ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ بُجْدَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ كَمَا رَوَاهُ سَائِرُ النَّاسِ، وَرُوِي عَنْ قَبِيصَةَ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ مِحْجَنٍ أوْ أَبِي مِحْجَنٍ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ.
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Clean earth is the ablution of a Muslim, even if he does not find water for ten years."
