أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، نا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، نا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدُّورِيُّ، ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ، قَالَ: ⦗١٢٥⦘ حَدَّثَنِي عُمَارَةُ بْنُ غَزِيَّةَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، عَنْ نُعَيْمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمُجْمِرِ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ تَوَضَّأَ فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ، فَأَسْبَغَ الْوُضُوءَ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى حَتَّى أَشْرَعَ فِي الْعَضُدِ، ثُمَّ يَدَهُ الْيُسْرَى حَتَّى أَشْرَعَ فِي الْعَضُدِ، ثُمَّ مَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ رِجْلَهُ الْيُمْنَى حَتَّى أَشْرَعَ فِي السَّاقِ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ رِجْلَهُ الْيُسْرَى حَتَّى أَشْرَعَ فِي السَّاقِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " هَكَذَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَوَضَّأُ ".
Nu'aym bin Abdullah al-Mujmir says: I saw Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) performing ablution. He washed his face and performed the ablution completely, then he washed his right arm until he went on into the upper arm, then he washed his left arm on into the upper arm, then he wiped his head, then he washed his right foot up to the shin, then washed his left foot up to the shin, then said: This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performing ablution.
وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَنْتُمُ الْغُرُّ الْمُحَجَّلُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ إِسْبَاغِ الْوُضُوءِ، فَمَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمْ فَلْيُطِلْ غُرَّتَهُ وَتَحْجِيلَهُ ". رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، عَنْ أَبِي كُرَيْبٍ وَغَيْرِهِ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَخْلَدٍ.
By the same chain, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection your hands and feet will shine because of completing the ablution. So whoever among you is able to lengthen his radiance and the whiteness of his feet, let him do so."
