Salim bin Abdullah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) mentioned a hadith that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Makkah, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the people: "Whoever among you has brought a sacrificial animal shall not come out of ihram until he completes the Hajj. And whoever has not brought a sacrificial animal should circumambulate the House (of Allah) and (go between) al-Safa and al-Marwah, have his hair cut and come out of ihram; then he should enter ihram for Hajj again and offer a sacrifice. Whoever cannot find a sacrificial animal should fast three days during the days of Hajj and seven days after returning home."
(b) Nafi narrates from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) concerning the one who misses the Hajj: If the Hajj reaches him the following year, he should perform Hajj if he is able (has the means), and also offer a sacrifice; if no sacrificial animal is available, he should fast three days during the days of Hajj and seven days after returning home.
(c) Sulayman bin Yasar (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated the like from Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) concerning the story of Habbar, when he missed the Hajj.
