Bayhaqi 9674 — The concession for camel herders to delay the stoning
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ الْقَطَّانُ بِبَغْدَادَ، أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ دَرَسْتَوَيْهِ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ الْخَلِيلِ، أنبأ ابْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، أنبأ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي الْبَدَّاحِ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَخَّصَ لِلرِّعَاءِ أَنْ يَتَعَاقَبُوا، فَيَرْمُوا يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ، ثُمَّ يَدَعُوا يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً، ثُمَّ يَرْمُوا الْغَدَ ".
Asim bin Adi (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted the herders a concession "that they take turns and stone on the Day of Sacrifice, then leave off for a day and a night, and then stone on the following day."
