Bayhaqi 9446 — The talbiyah on the Day of Arafah
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ شَيْبَانَ الرَّمْلِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ يُهِلُّ بِالْمُزْدَلِفَةِ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: " يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِيمَ الْإِهْلَالُ؟ قَالَ: وَهَلْ قَضَيْنَا نُسُكَنَا؟ ".
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: I heard Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) saying the talbiyah at Muzdalifah, so I said to him: O Commander of the Believers, why the talbiyah (here)? He said: Have we completed our rites?
