أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا الْمَعْمَرِيُّ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّمَّارُ، قَالَا: ثنا هُدْبَةُ، ثنا هَمَّامُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَافَ سَبْعًا؛ ثُمَّ طََافَ سَبْعًا لِأَنَّهُ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَرَى النَّاسُ قُوَّتَهُ " وَفِي رِوَايَةِ الْمَعْمَرِيِّ: طَافَ سَبْعًا، ثُمَّ طَافَ سَبْعًا؛ لِأَنَّهُ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَرَى النَّاسُ، أَوْ يُرِيَ النَّاسَ قُوَّتَهُ وَقَدْ، قَالَ غَيْرُهُ فِي هَذَا الْمَتْنِ: طَافَ سَبْعًا وَطَافَ سَبْعًا، وَقِيلَ: أَرَادَ بِهِ طَافَ سَبْعًا بِالْبَيْتِ وَسَبْعًا بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ فَلَا يَكُونُ مَدْخَلُهُ هَذَا الْبَابَ، وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ.
(a) Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed seven circuits, then performed seven circuits again, because he liked people to see his strength.
(b) In the narration of al-Ma'mari: He performed seven circuits, then performed seven circuits, because he liked that the people should see, or that he should show the people, his strength. Others have narrated this text as: "He performed seven circuits and performed seven circuits."
(c) It has been said that what is meant is that he performed seven circuits of the House and seven circuits between Safa and Marwah, in which case it does not belong in this chapter. And Allah knows best.
(b) In the narration of al-Ma'mari: He performed seven circuits, then performed seven circuits, because he liked that the people should see, or that he should show the people, his strength. Others have narrated this text as: "He performed seven circuits and performed seven circuits."
(c) It has been said that what is meant is that he performed seven circuits of the House and seven circuits between Safa and Marwah, in which case it does not belong in this chapter. And Allah knows best.
