أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْمُزَكِّي، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ثنا ابْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، ثنا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ إِذَا أَحْرَمَ مِنْ مَكَّةَ لَمْ يَطُفْ بِالْبَيْتِ وَلَا بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ مِنْ مِنًى وَكَانَ لَا يَسْعَى إِذَا طَافَ حَوْلَ الْبَيْتِ إِذَا أَحْرَمَ مِنْ مَكَّةَ " قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ فِي الْقَدِيمِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: لَا يَسْعَى: يَعْنِي لَا يَرْمُلُ، قَالَ: وَمَنْ أَحْرَمَ مِنْ مَكَّةَ أَوْ طَافَ قَبْلَ مِنًى، ثُمَّ طَافَ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ لَمْ يَرْمُلْ إِنَّمَا يَرْمُلُ مَنْ كَانَ ابْتِدَاءُ طَوَافِهِ.
Nafi' said that whenever Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) entered ihram from Makkah, he would not perform tawaf of the House or go between Safa and Marwah until he returned from Mina, and when he entered ihram from Makkah he would not run (sa'y) in the tawaf of the House.
Imam al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said regarding this statement, "He would not run": that is, he would not perform ramal. Whoever entered ihram from Makkah, or performed tawaf before Mina and then performed tawaf on the Day of Sacrifice, will not perform ramal. Ramal is in the initial tawaf.
