Bayhaqi 9191 — The muhrim may shade himself with whatever he wishes

(a) Abdullah bin Ayyash bin Rabi'ah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I accompanied Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) during Hajj, and I did not see him pitch a tent until he returned (from Hajj).
(b) Imam al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I think he said, in this hadith or in another: He would stop under a tree and seek shade with a leather mat, or a cloth, or some such thing.
