Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Lice infested my head until I feared for my eyesight, and I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the year of al-Hudaybiyah. Allah Almighty revealed this verse concerning me: "And whoever among you is ill or has an ailment of the head" [Surah al-Baqarah: 196]. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called me and said: "Shave your head, and fast three days, or feed six poor people a faraq of raisins, or slaughter a goat." So I had my head shaved and then slaughtered a goat.
