It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I met the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on one of the roads of Madinah while I was in a state of major ritual impurity, so I slipped away quietly and took a bath. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) missed me, and when I came back he said: "O Abu Hurayrah! Where were you?" I said: O Messenger of Allah! You met me while I was in a state of major ritual impurity, and I disliked sitting with you before taking a bath. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Subhan Allah' "Glory be to Allah! A believer does not become impure."
