أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ السُّوسِيُّ، وَأَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيُّ، قَالُوا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ هُوَ الْأَصَمُّ، ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ مَزْيَدَ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي، ثنا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ أَخْبَرَهُ: أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ خَثْعَمٍ اسْتَفْتَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ، وَالْفَضْلُ رَدِيفُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ فَرِيضَةَ اللهِ فِي الْحَجِّ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ أَدْرَكَتْ أَبِي شَيْخًا كَبِيرًا لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَسْتَوِيَ عَلَى الرَّاحِلَةِ، فَهَلْ يَقْضِي أَنْ أَحُجَّ عَنْهُ؟ فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " نَعَمْ " رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ عَنِ الْفِرْيَابِيِّ عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: A woman from the tribe of Khath'am said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) during the Farewell Pilgrimage, while Fadl (may Allah be pleased with him) was riding behind him: The divine obligation of Hajj has reached my father in old age, such that he cannot remain seated on a mount; will my performing Hajj on his behalf suffice? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "Yes."
