أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الضَّبِّيُّ، ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَاسِيٍّ، أنبأ أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَا: ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ، أنبأ عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ الْمَاجِشُونُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ خَثْعَمٍ تَسْتَفْتِي النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَامَ حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ، فَقَالَتْ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ إِنَّ فَرِيضَةَ اللهِ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ فِي الْحَجِّ أَدْرَكَتْ أَبِي شَيْخًا كَبِيرًا لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَسْتَوِيَ عَلَى الرَّاحِلَةِ، فَهَلْ يَقْضِي عَنْهُ أَنْ أَحُجَّ عَنْهُ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ "..
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: A woman from the tribe of Khath'am came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the year of the Farewell Pilgrimage to ask for a ruling. She said: O Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), the obligation of Hajj that Allah has placed upon His servants has reached my father in old age, such that he cannot sit on a mount; will my performing Hajj on his behalf suffice for him? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes."
