أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ فِي كِتَابِ مَعْرِفَةِ الْحَدِيثِ، أنبأ أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّغَانِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو النَّضْرِ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: كُنَّا نُهِينَا أَنْ نَسْأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ شَيْءٍ وَكَانَ يُعْجِبُنَا أَنْ يَأْتِيَهُ الرَّجُلُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ فَيَسْأَلَهُ وَنَحْنُ نَسْمَعُ، فَأَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ، فَقَالَ: يَا مُحَمَّدُ أَتَانَا رَسُولُكَ فَزَعَمَ أَنَّكَ تَزْعُمُ أَنَّ اللهَ أَرْسَلَكَ، قَالَ: " صَدَقَ " قَالَ: فَمَنْ خَلَقَ السَّمَاءَ، قَالَ: " اللهُ " قَالَ: فَمَنْ خَلَقَ الْأَرْضَ؟ قَالَ: " اللهُ " قَالَ: فَمَنْ نَصَبَ هَذِهِ الْجِبَالَ؟ قَالَ: " اللهُ " قَالَ: فَمَنْ جَعَلَ فِيهَا هَذِهِ الْمَنَافِعَ؟ قَالَ: " اللهُ " قَالَ فَبِالَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاءَ وَالْأَرْضَ وَنَصَبَ الْجِبَالَ وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا هَذِهِ الْمَنَافِعَ آللَّهُ أَرْسَلَكَ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ " قَالَ: وَزَعَمَ رَسُولُكَ أَنَّ عَلَيْنَا خَمْسَ صَلَوَاتٍ فِي يَوْمِنَا وَلَيْلَتِنَا، قَالَ: " صَدَقَ " قَالَ: فَبِالَّذِي أَرْسَلَكَ آللَّهُ أَمَرَكَ بِهَذَا؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ قَالَ: وَزَعَمَ رَسُولُكَ أَنَّ عَلَيْنَا صَدَقَةً فِي أَمْوَالِنَا، قَالَ: " صَدَقَ " قَالَ: فَبِالَّذِي أَرْسَلَكَ آللَّهُ أَمَرَكَ بِهَذَا؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ "، قَالَ: وَزَعَمَ رَسُولُكَ أَنَّ عَلَيْنَا صَوْمَ شَهْرٍ فِي سَنَتِنَا، قَالَ: " صَدَقَ " قَالَ: فَبِالَّذِي أَرْسَلَكَ آللَّهُ أَمَرَكَ بِهَذَا؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ "، قَالَ: وَزَعَمَ رَسُولُكَ أَنَّ عَلَيْنَا حَجَّ الْبَيْتِ مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا، قَالَ: " صَدَقَ "، قَالَ: فَبِالَّذِي أَرْسَلَكَ آللَّهُ أَمَرَكَ بِهَذَا؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ " قَالَ: وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ لَا أَزِيدُ عَلَيْهِنَّ وَلَا أَنْقُصُ مِنْهُنَّ، فَلَمَّا مَضَى، قَالَ: " لَئِنْ صَدَقَ لَيَدْخُلَنَّ الْجَنَّةَ ". ⦗٥٣٣⦘ رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ النَّاقِدِ عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ هَاشِمِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ. قَالَ الْبُخَارِيُّ: وَرَوَاهُ مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ.
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We had been forbidden from asking the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about anything, and we would love for a man from the desert people to come and ask him while we listened. Then a man from among them came and said: O Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! Your messenger came to us and claimed that you (peace and blessings be upon him) claim that Allah Almighty has sent you (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He has spoken the truth." The Bedouin said: Who created the heavens? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah." He asked: Who created the earth? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah." He said: Who set up these mountains? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah." He said: And who placed these benefits in them? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah." He said: By the One who created the heavens and the earth, set up the mountains and placed benefits in them, has Allah sent the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes." He said: Your (peace and blessings be upon him) messenger has claimed that five prayers are obligatory upon us in our day and night. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He has spoken the truth." He said: By the One who sent you, has Allah commanded you with this? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes." He said: Your messenger has claimed that charity is due upon us from our wealth. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He has spoken the truth." He said: By the One who sent you, has Allah commanded you with this? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes." He said: Your messenger has claimed that fasting a month in our year is obligatory upon us. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He has spoken the truth." He said: By the One who sent you, has Allah commanded you with this? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes." He said: Your messenger has claimed that pilgrimage to the House is obligatory upon whoever among us is able. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He has spoken the truth." He said: By the One who made you a messenger, has Allah commanded you with this? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes." Then he said: By the One who sent you with the truth, I will neither decrease from them nor add to them. When he left, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If he has spoken the truth, he will surely enter Paradise."
