وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، أنبأ بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ، ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ ـ قَالَ الْحُمَيْدِيُّ ـ قَالَ: ثنا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ أَبِي لُبَابَةَ، وَعَاصِمُ ابْنُ بَهْدَلَةَ، أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا زِرَّ بْنَ حُبَيْشٍ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ يَا أَبَا الْمُنْذِرِ إِنَّ أَخَاكَ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ يَقُولُ: مَنْ يَقُمِ الْحَوْلَ يُصِبْ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ، فَقَالَ: يَرْحَمُهُ اللهُ لَقَدْ أَرَادَ أَنْ لَا يَتَّكِلُوا وَلَقَدْ عَلِمَ أَنَّهَا فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ وَأَنَّهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ وَأَنَّهَا لَيْلَةُ سَبْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ، قَالَ: قُلْنَا: يَا أَبَا الْمُنْذِرِ بِأِيِّ شَيْءٍ تَعْرِفُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ: بِالْعَلَامَةِ أَوْ بِالْآيَةِ الَّتِي أَخْبَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ تَطْلُعُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ لَا شُعَاعَ لَهَا ". رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَرَ.
Zirr bin Hubaysh (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I said to Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him): O Abu al-Mundhir, your brother Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says that whoever stands (in prayer) the whole year will attain Laylat al-Qadr. He said: 'Rahimahullah' (May Allah have mercy on him); he meant that people should not rely (on one night). He certainly knew that it is in Ramadan, and that it is the twenty-seventh night of its last ten. He said: We said: O Abu al-Mundhir, how do you recognise it? He said: By the signs which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) described: "On that day the sun rises without rays."
