Abdullah bin Dinar (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: I heard Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrating from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about Laylat al-Qadr: "Whoever would seek it, let him seek it on the twenty-seventh night."
Shu'bah said: A trustworthy man told me from Sufyan that he used to say that he only said: "Whoever would seek it, let him seek it in the remaining seven." So I do not know whether it was this or that; Shu'bah was in doubt.
The correct version is the narration of the majority, not the narration of Shu'bah.
