أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الْمُزَكِّي، قَالَا: ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ أَبُو الْفَضْلِ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، أنبأ وَكِيعٌ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " كُلُّ عَمَلِ ابْنِ آدَمَ يُضَاعِفُ الْحَسَنَةَ عَشْرَةَ أَمْثَالِهَا إِلَى سَبْعِمِائَةِ ضِعْفٍ قَالَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: إِلَّا الصَّوْمَ فَإِنَّهُ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ يَدَعُ طَعَامَهُ وَشَهْوَتَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِي، لِلصَّائِمِ فَرْحَتَانِ فَرْحَةٌ عِنْدَ فِطْرِهِ وَفَرْحَةٌ عِنْدَ لِقَاءِ رَبِّهِ، وَلَخُلُوفُ فِيهِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ، الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ " رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْأَشَجِّ عَنْ وَكِيعٍ.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every deed of the son of Adam is multiplied: each good deed is multiplied from ten up to seven hundred times. Allah, Glorified is He, said: Except fasting, for it is for Me and I will give its reward, because he gives up eating, drinking and desire for My sake. And for the fasting person there are two joys: one joy at the time of breaking his fast and the other joy at the time of meeting his Lord. Indeed, the smell of the fasting person's mouth is more pleasing to Allah Almighty than musk. Fasting is a shield, fasting is a shield."
