وَذُكِرَ عَنْ مُعَاذٍ أنَّهُ " لَمْ يَأْخُذْ مِنَ الْعَسَلِ شَيْئًا " أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الَأُرْدِسْتَانِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو نَصْرٍ الْعِرَاقِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ قَالَ: بَعَثَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُعَاذًا إِلَى الْيَمَنِ وَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ.
It is reported of Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) that he did not take anything from honey. Ibrahim bin Maysarah (may Allah have mercy on him) relates from Tawus (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) to the people of Yemen, and he narrated the hadith similarly.
