أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو النَّضْرِ الْفَقِيهُ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثنا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ ضَمْرَةَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْمَازِنِيِّ، عَنْ أَبَانَ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ، أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ، " أَكَلَ خُبْزًا وَلَحْمًا، ثُمَّ مَضْمَضَ وَغَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ، وَمَسَحَ بِهِمَا وَجْهَهُ ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ ".
It is narrated from Aban bin Uthman (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) ate bread and meat, then rinsed his mouth, washed his hands and wiped his face, then prayed but did not perform ablution.
